Just wondering if they are legal or not for day and night hunting.
I've been doing some reading about the new FLIR units. The price is getting down to where people may be able to save up enough to afford them
I can't find any discussions on NV equipment on this web site. Just did a cursory look though. I guess I should do a search to see for sure.

I called down to DNR headquarters about this. I don't see anywhere in the regulations book where is says they are illegal. The only thing close is under the deer hunting section and it says you cant use any IR device to pursue the animal. They told me you can hunt coyote with Thermal at night. But don't take my word for it, any CO could be different. If you find out different let us know on here.

haha. Has he missed it yet? Wish I had the money to buy one of those things. I've been reading about SkyPups excapades over on the night vision thread on the FoxPro Forums. www.gofoxpro.comI should have applied to Vet School. I think SkyPup worked on large animals IE RACE HORSES as he is surround by Horse farms down there. I know that KY has thorough bread horse racing. I guess they race horses down in Florida? All I really knows is that he has a lot of money to spend on nice toys to hunt with..

Just remember its not always about how much money you spend on equipment if you know what your doing , when I first started I had a hand call givin to me and I bought a Johnny Stewart e-caller for $39.00 and a shot gun and played the wind , I killed just as many coyotes years ago as I do now before all this hype and tv shows and had more fun , now a lot of guys depend on the equipment to make them successful .

I depend on the equipment to make me successful. Except for this one time..... a guy I was turkey hunting with, made an awesome sounding slate call. I was impressed by the beauty and sound of it, the last day I hunted with him he handed the call to me and said "its yours". I took the call home and with two weeks of season left, I used that call. Never again did I see another turkey!!!
