This past weekend I observed several coyote hunters in Jackson County, Indiana. The issue I have is hunting on private land. That is a good way to get a hunting dog killed. The next time I see a coyote hunter allowing his dog to chase coyotes on my land I will kill the dog.

There are game wardens and police departments that would more than gladly take care of the situation without you killing the innocent dog that is only doing what the owner is having him do .

The next time I see a coyote hunter allowing his dog to chase coyotes on my land I will kill the dog. Sounds like you're talking about "Houndsmen" if they're running dogs. Wrong website, not our deal. Our members call and shoot predators on lands we have permission to hunt. There used to be an Indiana Coyote Hound website but I believe they pulled the plug on it after some of their videos gained national attention with the anti's and even showed up on the news stations locally. Gruesome stuff. Ironic, I was calling coyotes in Jackson County, Indiana on Saturday evening with my Midwest Predator Hunters decal in the back glass of my truck. Shot one at over 400 yards up there after he wouldn't cooperate and come any closer. Couple guys on quads pulled up to my truck while I was walking back and looked over my truck and pile of coyotes pretty hard. I spoke to the landowner on my way out, it wasn't him or his kinfolk snooping around. I figure whoever it was might be passing around pictures of my truck/coyotes by now? PS: For what it's worth, you would be in violation of Indiana State Law for shooting a hunting dog, even if it's trespassing, unless it was in the act of harming your livestock. I can introduce you to a couple of people that have paid $500-$2,000 restitution to hunters who were on their land without permission. You'll want to defer to the local CO for help with trespassing dogs and/or hunters.

.... spoke to a crew of guys running three groups of hounds in Jackson County yesterday. They weren't running coyotes, just feral hogs.

If the OP is telling the truth about guys running dogs on his land in this county I might know the guys running them. They tend to run their dogs and hunt on land they don't have permission and think its ok since they know "some" of the people nearby or that its "ok because they're only hunting yotes". As a new hunter I didn't know better at the time when I ran with them, tis why I now hunt alone or with my fiancé on public land on the opposite side of Jackson county from them idiots
