Anyone have one of these Hunting GPS maps for the State of IN.
www.huntinggpsmaps.com/
These are suppose to be put into a Garmin GPS unit like the Montana or the Oregon and then show the property lines and owners names on the digital map.
I'm thinking about buying the micro SDHC card for IN and trying it out but wanted to check to see if anyone else has tried it first.
If it does as they say it should be a good tool to use while driving around the area and while walking out in the field. It should show you on the GPS map where you are and who's property your one and which properties are near by. That way you can find out if you have strayed off the public property and onto a private property or not. And if you have written permission to hunt a certain property you can see where you are located and if you are on the right property.
Now they don't have all the day for Dubois and none for Orange County. But they say that they have the data for Warrick, Pike, Spencer and Vanderburgh County. And they have data for one of the three counties that Patoka Lake is located on.
I think I read that they also have contour lines for the lakes in IN. But I want to see the data before I spend another $125 on this thing.
They are making some new stuff for the Iphones and in beta testing for the Android Type phones. Evidently you can download these data or an app and use this map data GIS for your phone.
If I had a phone I'd go that route. But I think I found out that they want you to pay an annual subscription of $30 a year for the use of this data on the I phone.
If you buy the Chip Micro SDHC card with the data on it for the Garmin GPS unit you can get the card updated for a fee every so often.
As the sale of property continues to happen and properties get bought and sold over time. So they have to get the updated information from the Federal, State, Local County or City Government agencies and update the card data.
You can download a program that allows you to update the data on your card on your computer at home or send the card into them and have them update it for you and mail it back to you.
Here is the link to the web site where you can read up on this stuff:
