I guess no one wants to come in here anymore and discuss coyote hunting etc. This place is dead here lately. This use to be a good site but ever since it was updated people seem to be too busy to post or answer questions anymore. Where did everyone go? I thought that with the opening of the fur season that the posting in here would pick up. Humm? Guess I was wrong!
I'm not sure if I can answer your question as I'm as new to this as you are. I've just got access to an AR15 High Standard AR15 M4 but the front of the gun does not have a quad rail on it. It's round and I don't know if I can attack any accessories to the front part of the barrel. It does havce a flat picantinny rail on top of the Chamber area. So I mounted a scope riser and some Burris Medium Scope Rings so that I can attack a scope to the AR 15. But there is no more room for a light or a laser attachment. I would have to mount the light on the scope itself in order to get enough light to see at night. And I'm trying to figure out what type of light would work best. That's why I came in here today. I've heard good things about the Light Force Lights. They are battery operated and have a variable power dial so that you can control the intensity of the lighting. There are some other lights that will work as well but I'm not familiar with them. Which is why I'm here trying to learn more about the equipment and the methods of hunting coyotes and foxes. I'm doing it for sport and the challenge and not for the fur. But if I do get some fur I would not be opposed to learning how to skin it and sell it. I can always use some money to help pay the bills.

I mount mine on the top of my scope rings that have a rail built in. I can also mount it on my gas block.

Thanks Al and Hoosier. Did everyone go to that other National Predator Site? I don't see many posts in here anymore since they did away with the old web site. I figure that everyone must have moved to a new site and not given up on predatory hunting or posting in these forums all of a sudden. I'll be checking out the other site soon. Hoosierdaddy: Thank you so much for those links. The first link shows a great way to mount a light on the top of my new scope. I needed the 1" ring to attach to the Nikon M-223 BDC scope which is a 1" diameter scope. And then I can attach a light that's made to quick connect to the 1913 Picatinney rail on the scope rings. That's how I was imagining It working. I have not been able to find those things locally ...yet. I'll check out the local stores and see if they sell those so that I can see them in person and see what I'm buying. I'll also check them out online as well as I may get a better price that way. My neighbor is anxious to sell his AR 15. I could buy it for $700 right now but it's not the AR 15 that I would like to have. I guess I could take it to a gun smith and see what he could do to make the Rifle more to my liking and how much he would charge. I don't like having the A1 front sight on the barrel and I don't like the barrel shroud that it has on it right now. There are not Picatinney rails on the from grip of the rifle. And the rail on top is short and only has room for the Nikon or Rock River single Scope mount with two rings. I got the Rock River AR15 1913 Picatinney type single mount that's machined out of aluminum and painted black. I'm about two days from getting to hunt again. I need to get tot he range and sight the scope in tomorrow. And then after that I can go hunting. I wish this was the first of October right now instead of the first of Nov. I got a late start this years. Again thanks for all your help.
